My First Halloween was awesome and I experienced lots of new things. Mimi (my Grandmother) made an awesome Pirate outfit. My Dad and Papa dressed up like pirates too and we handed out candy to the little monsters that came to our house.   I'm still trying to figure out why the little kids in costumes got the really good candy (candy bars, Rolos, Peanut Butter cups, etc.) and the teenagers in football jerseys and the mothers collecting candy for their 2 month old or even unborn babies got the crappy stuff...you know...the Jolly Ranchers and the jaw-cramping plastic-tasting taffy. Maybe in a few years it will all make sense.

My dad carved up a Union Jack pumpkin in keeping with the pirate theme.
